If we were to ask you how likely it is for four people in a family to be born with the exact same white patch of hair, what would you say? Not very likely? Well, that is exactly what happened with a family in Ridgeland, South Carolina, where the fourth white-patched member of the family, MilliAnna, was born.
Now 18 months old, MilliAnna has the exact same unique ‘birthmark’ as her mother, Brianna, as well as her grandmother and great grandmother.
The condition these four family members have is called poliosis, which results in a lack of pigment in hair that surrounds skin. Brianna opened up about her family to the Daily Mail, stating, “We are unsure how far back the birthmark goes as my grandmother was adopted as a child and hasn’t met her biological family. I was hoping she did have it. My younger sister that my mother had a few years after me didn’t get it, so I didn’t know if MilliAnna was going to, but once I had her and they laid her on my chest and I saw she had it I was so happy.”
Although this might seem unusual to many people, Brianna actually considers it her signature look, and was ecstatic to find out that her daughter inherited the quirky white patch, too. “I plan to raise my daughter knowing she is beautiful and special and to not listen to people’s mean comments at times,” says Brianna.
Now that MilliAnna is a little older, the white patch looks even more adorable! We love to see that Brianna doesn’t get affected by other people’s comments, and takes pride in her family’s trademark white patch. We wish MilliAnna all the very best and hope she grows up to be as proud of her inheritance as her mother is.
