It’s being called one of the biggest and most amazing auto shows to date. For a city that may be on the ropes, you definitely can’t say that Detroit is down for the count. The 2015 North American International Auto Show is January 12-25 in Detroit, Michigan is being heralded as one of the most amazing collections of new cars in history.

Even though all of the auto makers always put their best foot, or wheel, forward with some very impressive offerings, there are some vehicles that truly stood out from the crowd. Here are just some of the most notable vehicles:

2016 Ford GT

Ford’s version of the European muscle cars, like the Audi R8, Ferrari 458 Italia and the Lamborghini Huracan, was completely unexpected. Ford claims the GT has one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car in history.

This impressive ratio is due the fact the body is made of lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber and has an all new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. The nimble turbocharged engine is based on the one used in Ford’s race-winning Daytona Prototype race car, and will produce more than 600 horsepower.

The 2016 Ford GT is expected to go on sale in 2016 with the price to be announced at a future date. The GT’s predecessor, produced from 2005 to 2006, cost a whopping $150,000.
